Rachel Ravell
Principal Lawyer and firm owner
Hi, I’m Rachel. I’m a family lawyer, mum of two gorgeous girls, wife, animal lover and travel enthusiast (well…prior to covid!).
Peppermint was a dream of mine for many years and and was inspired by two things. The first is that I genuinely love what I do! Working with clients in a down-to-earth and real way is so important to me. People often think lawyers are intimidating and ‘speak another language’. What I love is providing an experience for clients that is ‘plain english’, kind, client-focused and compassionate. Helping them find their ‘fresh start’ is such a privilege.
The second was my own personal experiences. I grew up with separated parents and understand some of the unique experiences and challenges that come with living between two homes. This has shaped the person I am today and is why I particularly love working with parents to help them and their children navigate the family law space.
I also believe it’s the little things that make a big difference when you are going through a tough time. Kindness and compassion encompass everything we do at Peppermint.
My background?
I have worked in the legal profession for 14 years and have an extensive and varied background ranging from working as an Associate to a Judge, being involved in complex litigation, working in-house for government and contributing to government policy projects. I am currently studying a Master of Laws (Family Law), am a trained collaborative family lawyer and work in various capacities in the family law space.
My ‘non-traditional’ pathway has enabled me to bring a completely fresh perspective and approach to my family law clients. I am not constrained by the ‘traditional way’ of doing things simply because ‘it is how things are always done’. I use creative, considered and strategic thinking to get the best outcomes for my clients.
